The fish and chips shine bright on the menu. Diners rave about the crisp batter and fluffy chips. Portion sizes are generous, making for a satisfying meal.

Happy surprises often come from the quality of dessert options. Diners frequently mention the sticky toffee pudding as a must-try, a perfect finish to a hearty meal.

Additionally, the tea selection receives praise. A well-steeped cup of tea complements the meal beautifully, adding to the relaxed dining experience. The atmosphere boosts it further, making it an enjoyable spot to unwind.

Most Disliked

Some comment on the higher price point compared to standard fish and chip shops. While the ingredients and preparation justify the cost to many, others may feel it's not typical chippy fare.

Busiest times can lead to extended wait periods. This can dampen the experience, especially on weekends. Patrons might not appreciate the hustle of peak hours or the noise that often accompanies busy mealtimes.

Limited parking availability can also be a sticking point, although free street parking exists nearby. Always smart to factor in time for finding a space during peak dining hours.

We visited Tribells on a Monday night after finding that the chippy we had been intending to visit was unexpectedly closed! But very glad we stumbled upon Tribells. They cook their fish and chips in proper beef dripping, and it very much comes through in the taste. Absolutely delicious. Best fish and chips we've had in a very long time. Ham, egg, and chips wad also lovely (proper bits of grilled gammon, rather than the wafer ham you get in most places!) Service was fine, portions generous enough for the slightly higher price point, lovely and relaxing interior. Overall, highly recommended and we would definitely visit again next time we fancy fish and chips in Llandudno.

If heaven serves fish and chips, it probably looks like Tribells. The cod? Titanic. If you’re expecting a modest fillet, think again—this beauty could double as a pillow. Perfectly flaky inside, wrapped in a crisp, golden coat that defies sogginess. And the chips! They weren’t just large… they were code chips—as in, someone clearly cracked the algorithm for “maximum fluff meets optimal crunch.” It’s culinary engineering at its finest. And oh, the mushy peas. These weren’t some sad, green sidekick. No, they were gloriously mushy—comfortingly savoury, smooth as velvet, and served with pride. Now, let’s talk staff: warm, welcoming, and possessed of that rare hospitality that makes you feel like a long-lost regular, even if it’s your first visit. They handled everything with cheerful grace and genuine kindness, even when the place was humming. Whether you dine in or take away, Tribells isn’t just a meal—it’s a little taste of coastal joy wrapped in greaseproof paper. Highly recommended for anyone who believes chips should come with personality and peas should be mushy with meaning.

Amazing food, service and ambience. We bought the deal of the day which was two fish large portion of chips two sides and a bottle of house wine for £40 for the two of us. Beautif fluffy batter everything beautifully cooked. Fantastic value and service was excellent. This place is beautifully decorated and is not your average fish and chip restaurant. Lots of lovely plants in the windows just a very pleasant place to be.

Amazing take away fish and chips - the best I've had south of Whitby! My wife and I simply were astounded by the wonderful quality and taste of the fish and chips we ordered on our recent bank holiday stay in Llandudno. The curry sauce was amazing, looked fresh and home made rather than the typical out of packet variety - lots of spicy sweetness. Gravy was equally fantastic. Fish was cooked perfectly, crispy batter and chips were delicious too. All for the princely sum of 23 pounds for two people - regular cod and chips and extras! Simply the best in Llandudno! Will not hesitate to sit down and eat in the restaurant next time!

Popped in here on our first night in Llandudno. Place is right on the corner and has a sit in and takeaway section. We decided to sit in and enjoy the atmosphere. Staff are super friendly, especially the nice lady who picked up my Ayrshire accent instantly and is from just up the road from us originally. The restaurant was quiet when we went in, but quickly filled up. Service was quick and efficient. Food is great! A normal fish and chips is more than enough, coupled with a side of onion rings. But if you fancy a challenge then you could try the king size fish and chips. I would have exploded. But overall the food was really enjoyable and tasty. I absolutely recommend coming here when you visit, it is literally a 2 minute walk from the beach.

Great restaurant. Lovely fish and chips. Excellent staff and very dog friendly. £32 for 2 fish 'n' chips with mushy peas and 2 cans of Pepsi Max seems expensive to me, but it's a sign of the current climate I guess. We'd been for a hike and got caught in an epic downpour. Me, my wife and our Labrador (Reggie) were soaked plus we both had muddy boots on. I expected them to turn us away but they were more than welcoming and even brought out a bowl of water for Reggie. It was a much needed rest and a chance to dry off. The service was efficient and friendly. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. They don't just do fish and chips either, the menu has all sorts for fussy kids, from pizza to burgers. I highly recommend Tribells if you're in Llandudno.
